(OLNEY/NEWTON) It’s another nice mid-December day in downstate Illinois with a fair amount of sunshine and some afternoon clouds for this Tuesday, all courtesy of a surface high pressure ridge hanging over the Upper Midwest. With a few more clouds moving in tomorrow, we’ll have another dry day on Wednesday, but rain is on its way, expected to move in with an upper level trof Wednesday night as the rain continues through the day on Thursday before ending late that night as temperatures drop. We’re then cooler, but dry Friday with sunshine returning on Saturday, plus a dry and cool period to follow Sunday through Monday. The initial outlook for Christmas Day 2018 is cloudy with a slight chance of rain and temperatures in the 40’s.
