(OLNEY/NEWTON) More mild and dry weather conditions are expected across our downstate area today although our winds will start to ramp up this afternoon as increasing clouds are expected into this evening as well. The approaching storm system will then bring us widespread rain tomorrow morning with more rain chances, maybe a few thunderstorms, by mid-afternoon through evening before the rain ends tomorrow night. A cooler airmass will settle into Illinois for the weekend, starting with cooler air in place for Friday, followed by cooler, but dry conditions on Saturday and Sunday. There’s some uncertainty in the weather forecast for the first of next week which is now calling for rain, maybe mixed with the light snow, for Monday through Monday night, all followed by colder air for Tuesday, New Year’s Day 2019. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather information.
