(OLNEY/NEWTON) As a warm front moves northward across Illinois, our widespread rainfall will continue through this morning, and after a short dry period, then redevelop this afternoon, with the chance of scattered thunderstorms as well. Our mild temperatures will hang around for one more day, although an approaching cold front will move through tonight as the rain ends and colder air filters in with temperatures dropping tomorrow. We’re then back to normal conditions with some sunshine over the weekend. Our high Saturday in the 30’s will be followed by Sunday’s high in the low to mid 40’s. Then a southern stream storm system will spread more precipitation into our downstate area late Sunday night into Monday. We’ll greet the new year of 2019 with much colder air moving in for next Tuesday and Wednesday.
