(OLNEY/NEWTON) The current low pressure system hanging over the Midwest will bring us widespread rain today, on this final Monday of 2018, however as the low quickly tracks into the Great Lakes region, the rain will diminish with periods of light drizzle eventually ending late tonight. Colder air will then filter in from the northwest tomorrow as the first day of the new year, 2019, will be mostly cloudy, but dry. Then after a dry and cloudy Wednesday, another storm system will move into the Midwest with rain chances by Thursday afternoon continuing into Friday morning. It all clears out for a dry first weekend of 2019. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather details.
