(OLNEY/NEWTON) An expansive area of low clouds will continue across our downstate region today through tomorrow with cooler and light wind conditions to start off the new year of 2019. The quiet weather will continue with some sunshine appearing on Thursday as a little warmer air starts to move into the Midwest. Our next weather-maker will move in with clouds and a chance of more rain beginning Thursday night, continuing through the day on Friday, and then ending by late Friday night. While it appears to be a mostly rain event, some freezing rain and light snow may be mixed in towards the end of the precipitation Friday night. Behind the system will be a high pressure ridge bringing sunshine and some warmer air for the first weekend of 2019, all to be followed by another chance of rain next Monday. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather details.
