(OLNEY/NEWTON) As a low pressure system moves into and through the Tennessee Valley today through tonight, we’ll have a chance of some light rain this afternoon through tonight, although the bulk of the heavy rainfall stays to our south. A high pressure ridge approaching the Upper Midwest will then gain control of our downstate conditions with plenty of sunshine on tap both tomorrow and Sunday with mild air moving in as well. However, rain re-enters our forecast by late Sunday night and continuing through Monday before ending that night. Behind this system, we could return to normal winter temperatures by midweek next week but then maybe return to dry and warming weather for the following weekend. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather details.
