(OLNEY/NEWTON) The storm system that brought us between a half inch and closer to a full inch of rain in areas further to our south has now moved off to the east and our downstate forecast turns mostly quiet for least a while. We’ll have sunshine today with a few clouds moving in tomorrow, but warmer-than-normal temperatures for the first weekend of the new year 2019 due to a high pressure ridge building into the Upper Midwest. However, an approaching strong short wave will bring us more clouds and a quick chance of rain on Monday morning. Behind the cold front that moves through by Monday afternoon, we’ll dry out and stay somewhat warm on Tuesday before the normal winter weather conditions return on for Wednesday through Friday. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for weather information.
