(SPRINGFIELD) Here’s some reminders from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources :
* the Controlled Pheasant Hunting Seasons at two downstate sites has been extended from now until January 21 – at the Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area in Clinton County, near Carlyle, and at the Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area in Franklin & Jefferson Counties, just off of I-57, at Rend Lake, near Ina
* the state’s Late Winter Antlerless-Only Firearm Deer Hunting Season starts a week from this Friday, January 18, continuing on Saturday and Sunday, January 19 and 20 – its only for twenty (20) counties in Illinois, including six (6) in our downstate area – Clay, Crawford, Shelby, Marion, Hamilton, and Saline
* the statewide Archery Deer Hunting Season continues each day now through January 17
* applications are being accepted now for the second lottery for 2019 Illinois Spring Wild Turkey Season permits – the application deadline for the second lottery is January 11, this coming Friday
